Pyrolysis/Thermolysis
Pyrolysis or Thermolysis of solid fuels (such as coal, biomass or selected refuse) is a thermal degasification process of such material in an enclosed (air/oxygen free) environment generating a mix of various combustible gases. Depending on the fuel properties various equipment like rotary kilns or heated screws can applied for this process.
After cleaning and drying the gas can be used either for power generation in gas motors or gas turbines or can be processed to serve as feedstock for the synthesis/production of liquid fuels, fertilizers or other HC-chemicals.Gasification
Auto-thermal Gasification in a fluidized bed made up out of dolomite/catalyst is converting solid fuels (such as coal, biomass or combustible waste) into low- to medium-Btu gas by partial combustion (at reduced air/oxygen levels).
The gas produced can either be used for co-generation of power and heat by gas motors or turbines or can be used as synthesis gas for fuels, fertilizers or HC-chemicals.Combustion
Complete combustion of all sorts of solid, liquid or gaseous fuels or combustible waste at excess air levels in fluidized bed boilers is the main process for steam or heat generation for the power and/or heat production (co-generation) for processes and district heating. These single purpose or co-generation systems will be subject to technical and commercial optimization.
Drying
Drying of solids in enclosed fluidized bed systems by superheated steam or flue gas using preferably waste heat from thermal processes as presented above
